The Same and Another

The Same

Peace rests above all peaks

Above all trees none speak

Barely a breeze

Stirs the birds in their trees

Wait now and soon

You will rest too.

Another (preserving original meter and rhyme scheme)

O’er all the hilltops

Is still,

In all the treetops

You feel

Barely a breeze;

The birds in the trees rest their tune.

Wait now and soon

You shall find ease.

By, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), translated from German by, Cecilia Feldmann
